OCDE Preparing for National Board Certification

Ended Jan 31, 2020

Full course description

The founding mission of the National Board is to advance the quality of teaching and learning by:

  • Maintaining high and rigorous standards for what accomplished teachers should know and be able to do;
  • Providing a national voluntary system certifying teachers who meet these standards;
  • Advocating related education reforms to integrate National Board Certification in American education and to capitalize on the expertise of National Board Certified Teachers.
  • The Orange County Department of Education (OCDE) is offering this blended learning program of support for all Orange County educators and counselors interested in accomplished teaching professional growth. In conjunction with Stanford University, OCDE will assist and support candidates with preparing materials for submission to the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS).

    The course is organized around twelve modules, and face to face workshops which will be offered at OCDE.  School and School Districts can request onsite workshops to provide additional support.
